About the artist

Zac Gunthorpe is a singer-songwriter hailing from Gympie, Queensland, with a gift for finding the gold in the everyday — the moments, the people, and the times we’re living through. Rooted in the landscapes and community of South East Queensland, his music carries a deep sense of place that resonates well beyond his home state. Armed with an acoustic guitar and harmonica, Zac’s solo performances carry the intimacy of a campfire and the weight of stories worth telling. His songwriting draws on themes of love, loss, place, and renewal — music that invites you to slow down and actually listen.

His recorded catalogue reflects an artist who has steadily grown into his own voice. From his raw debut EP Long Lost Love Lies through to Glory Bound, Ghost of the Town, and his expansive 2023 long-player Meant for the Sky, each release marks a deeper commitment to the craft of the song itself.

On stage, Zac has earned his place alongside some of Australia’s most celebrated artists, supporting The Whitlams, Bernard Fanning, Glen Richards of Augie March, Tim Freedman, and the legendary Charlie Owen — a roll call that speaks volumes about the company his music keeps.

Beyond the music, Zac has long used his voice in service of the communities and landscapes he loves, lending his songs to environmental causes close to his heart. Warm, honest, and deeply tuned in to the world around him, Zac Gunthorpe is an artist whose songs stay with you long after the last note fades.
