About the artist
This trio uses an eclectic collection of musical instruments and styles in an engagingly unique sound known as “Clonk” (Country/Blues/Folk/Funk fusion). Combining thought-provoking lyrical story telling with vocal harmonies, String and Bone are Australia’s only Clonk band. Quirky, funny, heartfelt and always interesting, they will leave you with happy ears, a warm feeling in your belly and catchy earworms rolling around in your brain long after the performance echoes fade away.
String and Bone are;
Karri Meredith-Harper. Trombone, melodica, synth, beat-box and other vocals
Alex Hey. Cello, lap-steel, Gypsy Jazz guitar and vocals
Tim Darby. Guitar, banjo, ukulele, vocals and songwriter
This year they won first place in Caring For Country Song Competition and were in top ten in category Australian Songwriters Association for the last two years and have been shortlisted various times for WAM Song Competition.
