FROCK IN FROCK OUT
Frock In Frock Out #FIFO is a celebration of the resilient, bold, and multifaceted nature of people who work and live in Regional Australia. A reminder that joy, creativity, and personal expression deserve a place in every part of life, including the FIFO lifestyle. Why Frocks? Because frocks are more than fabric. They’re symbols of celebration, personality, and pride. Whether it’s a full-length glitter gown, a vintage op-shop treasure, or something funky and fun thrown on for the Friday flight — wearing a frock is a mood. It says: I’m here, I’m me, and I’m bringing my full self. For some, it’s about reclaiming femininity in a hyper-masculine space. For others, it’s about blowing off steam with laughter and lightness. For many, it’s a quiet act of rebellion against the sameness of FIFO routines — a moment to sparkle on their own terms. For me, this is a project that speaks to issues regarding trust and respect. Respect for the fabric, the item that has its own story both in relation to its previous owners but also in manufacture and material. Trust that people will return the item once they have enjoyed it, allowing others to participate in the experience.
CELEBRATION HATS
In 2026, we are also exploring the fun of creating our own Festival Celebration Hats. Using recycled bike helmets, glue and decorations to create your fantastical hat masterpiece.
