About the artist
Brodie Loves is an indie-country/folk-rock singer songwriter who calls Western Australia home. She finds both her power and her salvation by singing her heart out about loving things, losing things and finding things. Perhaps a “late bloomer” or maybe just someone who was kept in the dark for too long, Brodie has been quietly honing her craft as a singer songwriter since childhood, using the art form to soothe her soul and find her way through the messiness of this world. After recently being named a finalist in the Emerging Artist category for the WA Country Music Awards and having her debut recording recognised as a finalist in the EP of the year category, Brodie is feeling more ready than ever to step into the light and let her voice be heard.
Brodie formed a band recently and is now lucky to work alongside some of her favourite musicians who are from many recognised and beloved West Australian bands including, Sunshine Brothers, Sugar Army and Duende Indalo. The band has performed at Walyalup Fremantle Arts Centre as part of the summer series event, Settlers Tavern in Margaret River and the Busselton Pavilion, as well as putting on well-loved dinner & dance shows at the community hall in Myalup, in collaboration with other local performers. Brodie Loves also often performs as a duo with her partner in life and music, Jimmy ‘the lips’ Murphy, their most notable shows being support for US band Gomez, The Beerfarm Metricup Rodeo and, most recently, featuring at the Harvey Harvest Festival.
Brodie Loves is always looking for an opportunity to bring community members’ voices together through songwriting workshops and choir projects. Join her at this year’s Nannup Music Festival to create a song together that captures the communal experience of being here together – enjoying REAL music the way that music is meant to be enjoyed – Live and Local!
