STUDENT SHOWCASE
The Program
In line with its commitment to support all Emerging Artists, the Nannup Music Festival offers performance opportunities for music students to showcase their craft in front of an engaged audience, within the festival’s safe and supportive environment. It is always a delight to see the growth of the students, with some picking up national touring and airplay as they evolve. A number of schools have been part of this initiative over the years.

The Nannup Music Club Inc has an ongoing relationship with The Nannup District High School. Each year, the festival offers staged sets for the school’s music and/or choir students to perform. The Club also offers an annual donation towards their music programs, in support of what they do.
Nannup District High School has a proud history of music in school, both instrumental and voice. Music is acknowledged across the school as a unique and powerful learning area, that crosses curricular and provides opportunity for student voice. Throughout the year, students participate in instrumental programs and choir. Students can learn percussion, guitar and reed instruments. Choir is at the very heart of their student voice. The choir learns and perfects songs from around the world and across genres, from hip hop to sea shanties.
