Buskers

We love to encourage busking at the Nannup Music Festival. So many of our favourite acts have started their musical journey busking! For those who didn’t get selected or just didn’t feel ready to apply, perhaps busking is for you. Come along and show us who you are and what you offer and you may win a spot at Nannup Music Festival 2026!

WHERE YOU CAN BUSK

  • We have a Busking Blackboard stage set up at the Depot Lawn opposite the Ticket Office where you can chalk your name in for a short segment each day.

    Friday: 5:00pm – 8:00pm

    Saturday: 9:00am – 8:00pm

    Sunday: 9:00am – 8:00pm

  • The main businesses with dedicated busking sites are the Blackwood Café and Nanna’s Pantry. Please see them, select a time and share your magic.   Remember that out of courtesy, if you have a following, ask that they do not fill all the seats for paying customers at these premises without purchasing a drink or something while there. 
  • You can busk on the main street of Nannup but please be sure not to impinge on foot traffic or business access.  Check with local businesses before you set up.
  • Young buskers and children are welcome to busk along our festival street (Brockman St). We love seeing what the kids have to share with us!.
  • Children may also wish for a stage spot at Goorbillyup. ‘The Young Ones’ happens at 9:30am on Saturday and Sunday mornings – please see Crew at stage for a spot.

RULES

Our rules are few and gentle: 

  • Please register as a busker at the Ticket Office before you begin.
  • No amplification allowed by buskers – so as not to impinge on programmed venues and artists.
  • Please be mindful of others who may wish to busk and do not stay too long in one location. (20 minutes at each location- rotating welcome).

Nannup Busking Competition

We don’t have a Busking Competition for 2025, however we will be running something behind the scenes, and a busker will be offered a place on next year’s Nannup Music Festival program. 

If you have a small sign with your name on it as you busk, passersby or anonymous appraisers can not only show some love by dollars and coins in your hat, but also by placing your name in a “Recommendation” box (Located at the Blackboard Stage/Ticket Office area).  But you must have registered so we can find your details easily to be in the running!

And to all our visitors and locals – ticketholders and non-ticketholders – you can play an important part in our Busking “competition” by checking out the buskers at the Blackboard Stage, on Brockman street and Warren Road, as well as at Nanna’s Pantry and Blackwood Café (and anywhere else the Music happens on the street).  All you need to do is write down the name of the Busker you love most and pop the recommendation in the special “Show some Love for our Buskers” Box at the Blackboard Busking stage.  

A panel will check out all the recommendations and so long as the Performers have registered as Buskers at the Ticket Office, we will check out their social media or other performances and one will win a spot at next year’s festival.
