Aroma Arts
Diana from Aroma Arts is excited to be returning to Nannup for another year. Come along and make a funky flower brooch or mini crochet bag scented with essential oils, roll yourself a clay and coconut washball or make some felted soap. Whatever you do you will be sure of a fun workshop.

Bush Animals
Imagine, play and create some fun animals using air dry clay, bush seeds, leaves and nuts. This session is about coming together, exploring materials and making characters.
Everyone is welcome. Younger children please be accompanied by an adult.

Bush Fairy Stage Show with Ladybird Entertainment
Stop and listen quietly, don’t make a sound.
The bush and its creatures, hiding all around.
With some bush fairy exercise, and bush magic too.
Hiss like a snake and do the kangaroo.
Creeping Echidnas, jumping wallabies.
Laughing kookaburras in the big tall trees.
The Australian Bush, has lots of plants and trees.
Its home for so many, so take care of it please!

Celtic Guitar Stylings With Inn Echo
Join Tom Gammons from Inn Echo for an intro class on strumming patterns that will really make your Celtic guitar accompanying stand out. Hear some trends in the genre and build on your knowledge base. Must have own well strung acoustic guitar and a knowledge of chording and basic strumming. Please bring your own guitar picks, tuners, capos etc. You should be able to move comfortably through chords at a proper pace. While the style may be new to you, you should be playing guitar comfortably for a year or two.

Learn how to make paper the old-fashioned way, which you can use in other arts and crafts or write beautiful letters with.

Indian Ocean Rhythms with Grace Barbé
An entertaining and engaging introduction to something that will be quite new to many "Western" musicians. Grace Barbé and her band will introduce the audience to traditional and contemporary Indian Ocean rhythms such as sega, seggae and mutya, both from a practical and theoretical point of view, including an explanation of how the rhythmic parts are distributed around the instruments.

Like a Version - The Wilding Stories
Join writer/producer Margot Edwards and song-writer/performer Tilly Kelleher for a collective, deep listening to three pre-recorded audio versions of a new folktale told as story; Noongar-English yarn; a cappella poetic ballad.
Followed by conversation/workshop on taking story to song, reinterpretations, versions, cross-cultural archetypes; collective fascinations with re-arranging and performing in contemporary framings. Open to playful improv off the theme of retelling.

LITTLE FOLK MUSIC
Music classes for your little folk.
Join Freya as we explore nursery rhymes, traditional folk songs and simple dances using instruments, scarves, musical story books and puppets. 40 minutes of active music making with time for free musical play afterwards.
Parents/caregivers are encouraged to participate in the class with your child so please wear something comfortable and bring a water bottle.
Ages 0 - 3yrs.
1-1 adult to child ratio.
Spaces are limited.

LOOKSEEDO
You will find LookSeeDo in our Playground venue. This free entry, dedicated area for kids will host a range of activities to keep little people happy and excited over the festival weekend.
This is where you will also find our face painting station, a festival fundraiser.
Please note that LookSeeDo is not a children drop-off zone; children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times.

Lyric & Creative Writing Workshop with Tanya Ransom
From generating ideas to giving you the tools for better lyric writing, Tanya Ransom shares her motivations behind songwriting and how you can lift your writing game. Fine tuning lyrics, sense bound imagery and creative discipline. This is a workshop for all creative writers.

Musical Babes with Sally Balfour
Sally performs children's song with a folk twist, for the little kids and the grown up kids, singing not only the songs from my childhood but original songs relevant to both kids and parents.
Songs to get feet stomping and hands clapping. A set to dance your sillies out!

MUSIC AND MOVEMENT
Do your kids love to dance play music and be silly creatively in a safe space?
This workshop is here to invite kids to explore the dynamics of emotion, nature, fantasy, music and movement through the creation of sound/music and dance. This is a hands-on workshop where children are given the opportunity to play different instruments while others represent what they are hearing/feeling through improvised movement and dance.
Everyone will be given the opportunity to both dance and play.

Come along and get some good information to future proof the longevity of your music career. Should I play through pain?
What does it mean if my hand swells up?
What does tingling or numbness in my fingers mean?
Lugging gear, vocal health, information around pain & more. Rose Parker is and Occupational Therapist with over 30 years experience treating overuse injuries. She specialises in treating musicians because she is one!!

NANNUP BUSKING COMPETITION
The Nannup Busking Competition will be showcased at Nannup Brewing Co on the Saturday and Sunday of the festival, with the winner earning a spot in our 2024 festival programme.
8 entrants - 2 heats - 1 winner!

NANNUP DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL
CHOIR:
At Nannup DHS, students are provided with opportunity to participate in class music, learn an instrument, play in an ensemble and be a part of the school choir. Throughout the year, students participate in a variety of rehearsals, workshops and performances including the Nannup Music Festival, Flower and Garden Festival and the Bridgetown Blues. They also perform at many school events such as Concerts, Assemblies and the Presentation Night at the conclusion of the school year.
ALL STARS:
2022 was another busy year for the Music Department at Nannup DHS with unique and varied performance opportunities and even an online Q&A session with Mick Cavanagh from King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. Last year students from Nannup DHS also performed at Band Festival in Perth. It was fantastic to see students from Nannup DHS working alongside students from Donnybrook DHS and Collie SHS. This was the second time we have collaborated with these schools, the first was at the 2020 Music Workshop at the Nannup Recreation Centre. The school would like to thank Instrumental Music School Services for providing free instrumental lessons and ensemble direction to our talented students.

Old Time Tunes with Cat and Clint
Cat and Clint will teach a couple of traditional tunes, from the American Old Time back catalogue. This is an inclusive workshop, open to all levels of playing ability. Bring along your instruments and join in!

Poetry & Song with Peter Capp and Friends
Peter Capp is a veteran of many festivals including the recent Gympie Muster. Peter most likely performed at the first Nannup and lots of others. A breakfast not to be missed with special guests including Phil Strutt. Plenty of humour, music and poetry.

Sandy Beaches
Sandy Beaches, has arrived to share love with all those she reaches.
Hey there grown ups, Sandie McArdell, aka, Fairy Sandie, with a degree in visual arts, music and performance, cannot survive without dabbling in a new, creative idea.
Recently she’s been writing a few Rap songs. Her first song being quite intense about this crazy fast world we live in. But then Sandy Beaches arrived, to remind us to feel and breath in the love. It’s everywhere, So watch out, she’s got love to share!!

Saturday night watch out Nannup, our Dream Fairies get more enchanting each year! All lit up Ladybird Entertainment will intrigue you with their beautiful costumed fairies, with butterflies, flowers and wonderful wings. Jump in amongst them for a photo, or just enjoy as they grace through Nannup!

SERVITE COLLEGE
Servite College personalises the learning journey for students by designing unique pathways to success. With campuses in Nannup and in Tuart Hill, Perth, at Servite we engage our students through customised curriculum content and authentic delivery methods.
The College offers a growing music program and is proud to be able to participate in the 2023 Nannup Music Festival. Servite students will perform music in a variety of styles, in rock bands, trios, duos and soloist contexts. They will be performing a selection of covers and original material, some of which have been entered into various competitions such as Triple J Unearthed High.
Our students actively perform in school events and the wider Perth music scene, including Telethon and Spirit of the Arts Festival and their recognition has included a WAMAward.

An opportunity for songwriters to come together, share songs, discuss inspirations and processes, and hear songs and stories from Anna & Jordan about their songwriting.

Songwriters In the Round with Loren Kate
Join Loren Kate in an intimate 'in the round' concert featuring some of your favourite festival artists. Hear the songs and the stories that inspired the songs. A celebration of music, and the creativity of songwriting.

Songwriting Into Wellness with Tracey Barnett
If you have suffered from anxiety on any scale of the spectrum, this fun, but powerful tool can potentially assist you in easing symptoms. No prior songwriting experience needed.
Tracey Barnett is well know for her openness about her mental health journey. During this workshop she will explore with you the ways she uses songwriting to assist her journey to wellness.
This is for you, a gift to help you navigate life with a healthier mindset.

Street Stage @The Depot
A blackboard busking stage where you can jot your name down when you arrive at the festival and jump up for your spot. Or look out for busking locations throughout town!
The Street Stage and old Depot are located in the same area as our Ticket Office.

SUSTAINABILITY TALKS: COMPOST WITH SHANI GRAHAM
Shani Graham from Ecoburbia is addicted to compost, and has been making great compost for years. She has developed a fail proof “recipe” and is keen to share it with you.
Whether you are a successful compost maker willing to share or just thinking about starting a composting system, come along to this workshop!

Sustainability Talks: Geographic Community for Sustainability and Resilience with Shani Graham
Do you know your neighbours? Do you long for the sense of community in your street that you had as a child? Are you interested in how the development of geographic community can make our suburbs more sustainable and resilient?
Come and spend some time with Shani Graham from Ecoburbia, and hear her ideas about the development of geographic community. You will reflect on the importance of community, then watch a heart warming TED talk by Shani about the story of a small local street community.
Shani will then share what she and her friends have been up to in her current neighbourhood, the 350 houses around her, who have developed a group calling themselves The "West Beacy Bunch". Stories of activities undertaken, an interesting governance structure and the community’s response to covid19 are inspiring at many levels.
As well as discussing some of the lessons these stories have for your own situation you will have a chance to share some ways you could improve the community feel of your own geographic community.
You are guaranteed to leave with the skills and inspiration to develop community where you live.

The Young Ones
Join our ‘Young Ones’: those who have grown up with festivals, performing families, or are young with a passion and possibly a skill to perform.
It's so wonderful seeing all the ‘Young Ones’ giving busking a go, we wanted to offer them a go on a stage if they wanted.
If a child who is at the festival with you is keen, please head to the Goorbillyup stage (main food court) at 10am on Saturday and Sunday and have a chat with the MC.

Tiny Town Sketch Connection with Art Jam WA
This is a fun and playful art therapy activity that will encourage creativity and connection. Tell a tale of your own tiny town with the friends you made along the way.

Performing at last years festival Erin Griffin and Fourth State Turiya are excited and grateful to be back to recreate the magic of their yoga and music collaboration.
Offering a gentle morning Hatha practice with a backdrop of ambient otherworldly electronica, ethereal vocals, and organic instruments, you’ll be serenaded at a whole new level as Fourth State elevate the experience of being in the nature, being in community and being with your Self.
