The Pleasures

The Pleasures are fronted by the dual forces of Catherine Britt and Lachlan Bryan. They deliver a mash of high-energy tunes and delicate pin-drop moments, sibling-like harmonies and sharp wit.  Their sound personifies the eclectic nature of Americana – drawing on country rock, blues and folk music – with a good pinch of punk attitude.  Reviewers seem to agree, with splendid reviews the four-piece are playing some of the most dynamic live shows right now.

Their debut record ‘The Beginning of the End’ was released to much acclaim last year, and it has kept them on the road for most of the past fifteen months.

Alongside a string of headline shows in the USA, UK and Europe the band have also found time for barnstorming sets at Port Fairy Folk Festival, The Gympie Muster, Out on the Weekend, Groundwater, Maverick Festival (UK) and Shrewsbury Folk Festival (UK). This year they were official showcase artists at both Folk Alliance International (Kansas City) and Americanafest (Nashville).

Their new album will be out in May 2025.

They burned their stage down with country rock that sounds like they should own Nashville, Austin and Memphis while only going back Down Under for occasional visits. The Pleasures’ new album “The Beginning of the End” rivals their live performance for exciting sound and fury. Easily a personal choice for best of 2024 Folk Alliance International.”  – Doug Hill – The Norman Transcript
