Kiwirrkurra Band - RAADP MENTEE

REMOTE ABORIGINAL ARTIST DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Formed in the early 2010s, the Kiwirrkurra Band hails from the Kiwirrkurra Community, one of the most remote areas in Western Australia. Comprising members of both Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander descent, the band’s music blends their diverse cultural backgrounds and shares a deep connection to their land and people.
The band’s breakthrough came after touring the Central Desert with the Desert Feet Tour, a non-profit initiative focused on providing music education and community concerts to remote Indigenous communities. Their music, which combines desert reggae, rock, and native language lyrics, highlights their message of unity and strength in combating the dangers of drug abuse and resonates deeply with their community and beyond. With catchy melodies and heartfelt messages, the band uses their platform to celebrate the power of culture, family, and positive choices.
