ADELE OLIVER

Strumming an acoustic guitar borrowed from her school in coastal Broome, the young songsmith found her voice. “I could make sense of the world through song writing and I had a perspective to share.” Fresh out of university, the Kimberley called and she listened. “I got a job in the central Kimberley town of Fitzroy Crossing and that was a pivotal time for me.”

Hosting songwriting workshops in outlying communities, Adele learned to connect with the land and its people. “I was incredibly inspired by the Martuwarra Fitzroy River, the Country, landscapes, and people of the Fitzroy Valley.” During her time in the Fitzroy Valley Adele wrote and released her Debut single ‘Don’t Take My Blues Away’ in 2019. This was followed by her Debut E.P. ‘From the River’, a collection of songs inspired by living alongside the Martuwarra Fitzroy River recorded with Pete Grandison across two locations and released in 2021.

Her earthy Alt-Country sound began to take shape, drawing inspiration from artists like Brandi Carlisle, Missy Higgins, and John Prine. She captivated audiences at events like the 2021 Nannup Music Festival and Odyssea Music Festival – ahead of trailblazers, King Stingray – and warmed up the stage for Caravana Sun in her hometown in 2023.

In early 2024, Adele teamed up with producer James Newhouse (John Butler, The Waifs, San Cisco) to begin work on her sophmore EP. From gritty Alt-Country stompers to lovesick Country waltz, Adele’s ‘To Home and Heartbreak’ EP is a time capsule. “I left a life I’d made for myself in Fitzroy Crossing and came home to a whirlwind of a romance that ended in heartbreak.”

With a spellbinding voice and rugged soundscape, Adele Oliver captures the heart of the human experience, spinning authentic tales of life, love, and loss.
